After some tests with Windows 8.1 (64bit preview edition) we found no problems with Notesbrowser 1.9.2 running on this new operating system and officially announce it as supported.

Also our products Notesbrowser Lite, MP3 Timer and DoNext are running fine.

The Notesbrowser Team is proud to release the new Notesbrowser 1.9.2!

We could not make Notesbrowser much better - but we did some small enhancements and corrected some bugs. Also we are glad that now all our software is fully digitally signed for Windows® and this makes it easier to install it (especially on Windows® 8).

 

New features in Notesbrowser 1.9.2

• application is digitally signed for Windows
• all icons of the plugins in the menu and in the configurations are now painted
• the date preview field can be resized also on the right side
• skins can be opened by a simple double click in the configurations
• small design changes
• for new installations Notesbrowser will start in the task bar and not in the tray (this can be changed in the configurations)
• small multi monitor enhancements
• if you choose "insert" from the categories menu it will now also insert pages if there is one in the clipboard
• inserting a page into a blank category will also change the category name to that of the page inserted
• includes the new plugin version DoNext 1.2
• includes the new plugin version MP3 Timer 2.6

 

Bugs removed

• if a skin is not valid the skin preview will not show anything
• if a backup is started at the first start of Notesbrowser there was the file plugins.xml missing and the backup failed. Now the backup is more robust in case there are files missing
• if the reminder contained no dates there still was a priority icon next drawn next to an empty date
• access problems to Notesbrowser files could leave a temporary file in the directory, without showing an error message what happened, this is corrected
• a font problem is fixed where starting on the second page and starting from the second field the font selection was completely ignored
• the message at the first Notesbrowser start "Attention: Notesbrowser found another database" does not appear anymore, only if it really has found a second database
• some wrong behavior was corrected that could happen if there are problems while saving to a file
• a bug is fixed where it was not possible to click on the Notesbrowser logo on low screen resolutions
• the logo that is displayed if Notesbrowser is not registered cannot overlap the saving button anymore
• a very rare error that prevented minimizing a field after it was maximized is fixed
• many small bugs removed

After more than one year of development we are very proud to present our first mayor update of Notesbrowser Lite!

We have removed many bugs and made Notesbrowser Lite even more stable than it was before! Try it free of charge!

New and improved in Version 1.1

We couldn't improve much in Notesbrowser Lite - but here is a list of what we did:

New features:

• application is digitally signed for Windows
• small design changes
• for new installations NB Lite is starting with the task in the taskbar and not the tray (can be adjusted later)
• small improvements for multi monitor usage
• the "insert" command in the category menu now can insert also pages from the clipboard
• if you insert a page in a blank categoy, the name will be set to that of the pagename

Bugs removed:

• if there were access problems and Notesbrowser could not save, in some rare cases there was no error message and a tempory file with the changes remained - now the error message will always appear
• some font problem removed where the font was not changed beginning with the second description line on the second page
• the wrong message will not be displayed any more at first start: "Attention: Notesbrowser found another version"
• error handling in save process is improved
• the Notesbrowser logo can now be clicked on in low screen resolutions
• the logo at the botton cannot overlap the save button anymore
• a rare bug was removed where a maximized field could not be minimized back anymore

May 2013 - MP3 Timer 2.6 Final is released!

Changes to the old version 2.5:
- if you stop the running MP3 it will be rewinded
- if you click on one of the "+" buttons or choose a time directly, the running MP3 will be stopped it it runs because the countdown elapsed
- removed bug where a direct entry of the time "00:00" produced an error
- a small bug in context of running the timer from USB flash drive was removed
- bug removed: if you click on pause but no MP3 was selected, there was an error
- the internal error handling is improved


Changes to the old version 2.4:
